The start of everything

In the second semester of the 2016/2017 school year the Berze Nagy János Secondary Grammar School created a proposal writer work team with the leading of Ombódiné Madai Judit. The group of workers sent an Erasmus+ application with the name of Nations’ Puzzle on 29 March 2017. After the rating of the maverick experts, the advisory board of Tempus Foundation announced us to be the winners. Within the framework of the outstanding rated project, the Berze Nagy János Secondary Grammar School will work with the teachers and students of the IES Sierra de Guaderrama from Madrid, Spain and the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore ”Basile-D’Aleo” from Monreale, Sicily for 28 months. Three Nations Meet

Our school, the Berze Nagy Janos Secondary Grammar School, thanks to the Erasmus+ project, and the hard work of our staff, is part of, and the coordinater school of the Nations’ Puzzle project. On November 18th we had our first transnational meeting, for which delegates from Sicilian Basile-D’Aleo and Spanish IES Sierra de Guaderrama schools came to visit Hungary. The first meeting was staged in our school library, where after a short opening speech the three countries showcased their mobility programs, including destinations, timeframe, jobs and goals, and also thanked us for this wonderful opportunity. Our city’s television crew was also on site, and interviewed our guests. After this they took part in a welcoming party during which they could taste many Hungarian delicacies. The second transnational meeting

On February 16th Hungarian and Spanish teachers and pupils arrived in Palermo, Sicily. After our hosts greeted us we headed to Monreale, where we stayed for the rest of our trip. We settled in at our hotel, and had time to rest before going to a local restaurant for dinner. We tasted traditional Sicilian cuisine and talked with our Spanish counterparts. After a tiring day we slept well, and the next morning we were greeted in the town hall by the mayor, and teachers of the Basile-D’Aleo school. We then walked to the nearby cathedral and looked around in awe. Then the time finally came to meet the Italian students. At their school we watched traditional dances, then they sang a song. The students and teachers then parted ways, the students headed to the computer lab to learn about making and editing films with Mr. Messina, and the teachers gathered to discuss the mobility, logo, and the project. Spain - Mobility Program - Saturday

On Saturday morning, we left school at 9: 00 a.m. First, we visited the royal palace, where we learned several interesting pieces of information about the it. After that, we went to the bus again and we headed to Segovia's downtown, The Roman Aqueduct. The aqueduct was built by the Romans around 1st century AD and its purpose was to bring water from the mountains to the town. Now it belongs to the UNESCO World Heritage Site. After we did a short walk in the city, we got a little free time to explore Segovia's Ancient buildings and we also had an eating-out. The Alcazar It is more than 1000 years old, the former house of Spain’s kings. If you are in Segovia, you should visit it. It is said to be the inspiration for Disney’s logo Castle. It is well-preserved and there is an amazig view of the city from the top. In the evening, we went to have dinner ,which was our last time together.
