Unforgettable mobility in Sicily - Wednesday

The 18th April was the fourth day in Sicily. We woke up early in the morning, since we started our trip at 6 o’clock. First, we travelled from San Cipirello to Monreale, where we picked the Spanish and the Italian students up and then set off to San Filippo del Mela, which is located in the other part of the island. Although, the weather was a bit foggy in the morning, the scenery was wonderful inside the mountains. In San Filippo del Mela, we had the opportunity to explore an environmentally friendly solar power plant. First of all, we saw a presentation about what the STEM system is. Thanks to it, we learnt a lot about the processes and we could realize that it will be the future. Everybody knows that there are many deserts in the world, and it is an innovation to make electricity with the help of sand and solar energy. They use sand to retain heat. They can make electricity with a turbine, what is more, they can use it on cloudy days or at night, as well. The best moment of the day was that we could see how it works in real life. The workers of the Magaldi Group were kind and they answered all the questions that are relevant to our project. Then we had lunch in the canteen of the Magaldi Group . During lunchtime, we had fun together. After finishing our work, we got on the bus and visited Milazzo and its amazing beach. Then, we went home and we were free for the evening.
All in all, it was a tiring day, but it was definitely worth visiting this place.
